The Raven Series of Converters offers connectivity solutions for a broad range of environments. Whether connecting two remote locations, or solving a difficult wiring closet issue, the Raven Series has a product to meet your needs. The standalone converters are ideal for remote locations requiring a single, cost effective fiber link. These converters may be consolidated into a 19 inch rack system, allowing for utilization of a common product in the main or intermediate distribution frame and at the remote location. For those needing visibility into how their network is operating, a managed media conversion system is available.
The Raven Series is designed with ease of use in mind. The UTP port will auto-detect the cabling type (cross over or straight through), the polarity of the pins, the speed of the port and the mode of the port without any user intervention. No more concerns about what type of device the converter is connecting, whether hub or server. The broad range of media for the fiber port makes for optimal flexibility in designing the network, and upgrading the network in the future.
This product has been designed with diagnostic functions as well. The LinkSentryTM feature allows for passing through physical layer failures from one media to the other. This allows for a higher reliability in your network by making all components aware of network failures as they occur. The managed system takes this further by sending traps when link failures are seen on the ports.

Media Conversion Systems
MiLAN's MIL-9100 and MIL-9200 Media Conversion Systems provide a compact and powerful way to connect UTP and fiber at Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit speeds. The MIL-9100 and MIL-9200 enhance the performance and longevity of hubs, switches, and routers by simply and affordably combining the speed of fiber with the ease of copper.
The MIL-9100 is a 1U 19" rack mountable unit allowing you to mix-and-match up to 8 system modules for converting Unshielded Twisted Pair to fiber. Connection options include SC, ST, and MT-RJ in either single-mode or multimode. Other module options include UTP to BNC, fault tolerant transceivers, and a redundant power supply. The MIL-9200 Series provides the same degree of flexibility in a 2U 19" rack mountable unit with slots for up to 16 modules.
MiLAN's optional Fast ManageTM SNMP management software provides simple configuration of individual modules in the chassis. With a designated master unit, daisy-chain up to four additional systems in a single rack. All MIL-9100 and MIL-9200's come with a load balancing, hot-swappable, redundant power supply, and provide maximum design dexterity for media conversion when and where your network requires.

ATM Media Conversion
MiLAN’s MIL-185C UTP to multi-mode fiber optic converter is an OC-3 speed converter that converts electrical signals to optical signals. The MIL-185C has a compact form factor and is shipped with an external power source.
MiLAN’s MIL-195C UTP to single-mode fiber optic converter is an OC-3 speed converter that converts electrical signals to optical signals. The MIL-195C has a compact form-factor and is shipped with an external power source.
The 225C Converter is a high speed converter which converts multi-mode fiber to single-mode fiber optical signals for Fast Ethernet or ATM (OC-3) environments.
The MIL-185C and MIL-195C allow for using less expensive UTP Ports on ATM NIC’s or switches and utilize single or multi-mode fiber when and where it is needed.
Network administrators and installers desiring to link their Fast Ethernet or ATM multi-mode equipment to single-mode Fast Ethernet or ATM to increase signal driving distance will find the MIL-225C converter an immense benefit.
These products convert OC-3 electrical signals used in UTP wires, to optical signals used in single or multi mode fiber optics cables. The allowable fiber optic cable distance is 15km for the single mode and 2km for the multi mode. The allowable UTP category 5 wire is 100 meters.

Fast Ethernet Media Conversion
MiLAN's Fast Ethernet Media Converters provide maximum dexterity for interconnecting and managing various media and rate types. Our ClassicConverterTM, C2000 and S3000 Series of Fast Ethernet converters provide an ideal solution for switching UTP to fiber and multi-mode fiber to single mode, either within our rack-mounted Media Conversion Systems or as standalone units.
Available fiber distances range from 2km in multi-mode up to 100km in single mode, flexibly linking distant networks. An optional SNMP management module in the Media Conversion Systems allows monitoring or configuration of modules on an individual basis, allowing system administrators to remotely verify link and status information.
