Flexibility
and Reliability
If more Gigabit Ethernet ports are needed, just add another
TE 12G/12GT to the stack and the switchgroup will look and feel as if they are
one. Plug-in optical transceivers provide any-optics-type flexibility with all
available standard SFP’s. Telco Systems optical transceivers include SX,
LX, ZX, TX, CWDM and Bi-Directional miniGBIC types. Both the TE 12G and the TE
12GT support a redundant power supply feature. By adding a DC RPS unit, reliability
and redundancy improvements are guaranteed.
Manageability
Management
access via the Web or Telnet CLI, give network managers simple and comprehensive
means to implement network policy. The T-Enterprise switch’s console port
allows administrators easy and efficient network monitoring, management and configuration.
Applications
The
T-Enterprise 12G series is targeted at the Edge Aggregation arena, providing aggregation
services over Gigabit Ethernet uplinks for SME (small-to-medium enterprise) operations.
The Edge arena (in the wiring-closet, when connected in groups) is the intermediate
layer before the service provider Metro Access layer. The T-Enterprise 12G switches
connect the access layer directly to edge access nodes such as the TE24. T-Enterprise
functionality is crucial for offloading the backbone layer burden, since
these
switches can perform even the most complex service provider tasks.
TE 12GT
can be used in a server farm, since it supports multiple copper Gigabit Ethernet
ports that can be directly connected to servers. When additional optical ports
are needed in order to span longer distances, the TE 12G is the right choice.
Up to 12 optical ports, that can be fitted with a wide variety of optical transceiver
types, make it an optimal mid-range aggregation platform.
Stacking
The
TE 12G/12GT supports stacking features that let you manage up to 8 switches as
one unit, using a single IP address. Stacking provides the operator with a scalability
option - where switches can be added to the stack as port count requirements increase.
The stacking feature dramatically simplifies maintenance and control procedures,
since the stack, regardless of the number of switches, is treated as a single
entity.
